Privacy Policy

The short version: I'm not doing anything weird or nefarious with your data. Zenzicube is a calm app, and part of being calm is knowing your data is safe. I just want to know if people actually like playing the app, and I want to run a few ads to help people discover it.

That said, I am based in Canada, and this policy is designed to comply with Canadian privacy laws (like PIPEDA) and generally respect your digital boundaries no matter where you live.

What Data We Collect & Why

1. Your Collection (Game Data)

When you explore the menagerie, we save your progress—specifically, which creatures you've collected and favorited. This data is synced to your account using Firebase (a Google service) so you don't lose your collection if you switch devices.

2. Payments & Billing

If you make a purchase, those transactions are handled securely by Stripe. Zenzicube never sees or stores your raw credit card numbers. We do, however, collect your billing address during checkout because Stripe and international tax laws require us to calculate and remit sales tax based on your location.

3. Email Updates

If you explicitly ask for Founding Explorers updates, Zenzicube stores your email address and the date of your consent in Firebase Firestore. Resend delivers the confirmation and occasional program notes. Expressing interest is not an application and does not reserve or qualify you for a Founding Explorer place. You can opt out at any time by replying to an email or contacting Zenzicube.

4. Play Statistics

I want to know whether people enjoy the app, which creatures they love, and where the experience loses them—so I can make it better. I do that by counting, not by following anyone around.

Zenzicube keeps a running tally per day: how many times each creature was opened, favorited, magnified, or added to a My Field, how long a typical visit lasts, and which pages get read. Those are totals. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, and no visitor ID, so there is nothing that could reconstruct one person's path through the app—not even for me. Session length and creature counts are recorded as broad ranges rather than exact numbers for the same reason.

Because none of it is personal information, there is no consent banner to click through. If you would still rather not be counted, the switch below turns it off on this device and takes effect immediately.

5. Advertising

Zenzicube currently runs no advertising trackers of any kind. If that ever changes, ad measurement genuinely does need cookies—so it will arrive with a proper consent prompt, off by default, and this page will say so before it happens.

Your Rights

You have the right to know what data we have about you, to request a copy of it, or to ask us to delete your account and all associated data. If you ever want your data wiped from the Zenzicube servers, just reach out to me and I will take care of it immediately.

Updates

If the app changes and we need to handle data differently, I'll update this page. But the core philosophy won't change: your data will only ever be used to make the app work, process your payments legally, and help me keep the lights on through basic marketing.
